There is a Destroyer that participated in the Battle for Okinawa that was hit several times by Japanese Kamiikaze planes, suffered heavy damage, and several of the officers and crew were killed or wounded in the attacks, but they managed to get the ship to a U.S. Naval yard for repairs and it is now permanently at the Charleston, S museum.

That's probably the sister ship to the USS Drexler. My Dad was on board at Okinawa when the Drexler was sunk by Kamikazes.
