Hi Danny, your absolutely correct about the listing of researches at the NARA site. The reason why I did not bring it up is because anyone can claim to be a researcher. Case in point a couple of years ago while at NARA I was having lunch with a paid researcher. He was retired and had nothing to do with his time. He told me it was a good gig because people were paying him to have lunch and to learn about research. Sadly anyone can go into NARA and throw their names into a list of paid researchers for hire. I'm not insinuating everyone is in that class but there seems to be a few that are. Of course he probably does not get a lot of repeat business but there are so many people that would not know if it were their first time in hiring someone. Some people at the number listed know the good paid researchers who come in all the time and know what they are doing. I suppose that was the message I was trying to get across. Just asking who is good and bad probably won't get you a response from NARA but knowing how to ask the questions might.
