Abraham Lincoln's Assination

Hello, I'm a writer in the middle of the first draft of my current novel, Morning Belle, a Civil War era novel based in Tennessee (although my question applies to all Southerners and Southern historians.) Abraham Lincoln was assinated on Friday, April 14th 1865 (Good Friday) and died, according to history, the next morning, on April 15, 1865. I'm an amateur historian who's done years of Civil War work and it was only a few years ago that I realized Lincoln was assinated on Good Friday. Recently I came across a diary written by a Southern woman who mentions the Good Friday connection. I was wondering if anyone out there has a take on this unusual Biblical fact? Has anyone found in their historical research references to this at the time? Is there any correlation between this Biblical event and Lincoln's death in the 'southern mind' then or now?

I'd love to hear everyone's take on this, but please, this is for historical research, I have no desire to start a new virtual Civil War :)
