You complement my overall point and that is the "war" was not between Slave States vs Free States as modern media, "historians" and academia keep polluting the history with. Slavery was there, as I said, you could not avoid the subject then; but it was not a required"cause" or reason for either side to war against each other. If slavery was Lincoln's major concern, morally and or ethically to kill Southerners over, then why did he create a Slave State, expanding slavery, keeping more people in bondage--- just as Southerners have been accused of starting the war over? The fact is slavery never was his major concern-- appeasing the Northern, war-like abolitionist governors and those who bank rolled his presidency was.
