Johnny, I agree with Edward. Nowadays, we do not have genuine statesmen like some famous men in the 19th Century. Jefferson Davis was a very eloquent speaker and though he was flawed in some ways, he never waivered in his convictions. He wrote a two volume book titled, "The Rise and Fall of the Confederate Government". It is a good perspective from a Southern point of view and Yankees hate it. If you have a college library in your town, you can ask them to search and borrow the book for you to read. Or, you can buy the set of used paperback books for about $24.00.
