Robbing a soldiers reputation

Columbus, Ohio is located in Franklin County, Ohio. The Franklin County Recorders Office is considered by many to have the final say so about a man or a veteran. From my experience and perspective their records contain many serious errors.

Philip Riley was a former Confederate soldier who served with a South Carolina Cavalry unit among others. His only crime was to move to the Columbus area after the war seeking work.

Find A Grave Memorial# 57357143 has his obituary and also his death certificate. Even his obituary was a bit in error as he was not in charge of the U.D.C.

The Franklin County Recorders Office maintains he was with the Ohio Volunteer Militia despite what his grave marker says. This is but one example of how the Franklin County Recorders Office is robbing Confederate veterans of their reputations.
