David's picture of the monument in Kansas City triggered something unpleasant in my mind. I do not understand why there are not more Confederate monuments in East Texas. At the time of the War and for some decades afterwards, the majority of Texans lived in the eastern part, so I understand why there are many counties elsewhere with no monuments. The map in this link shades the counties with no Confederate statues and you can click on the others to find statues. The map is an incomplete work-in-progress.
