It was a great help but those men that the union officer talked about taking as POWs where teamsters.

And could you kindly include the reporting officer's name, rank and enlistment record as well?

Is there evidence of them being given rifles and uniforms?
Where these men paid for their service in the CS army I would like to see the records for that.

As far as I know...

1. They where given uniforms
2. They had muskets
3. They fought along side their white comrads

This is what I don't know...

1. Did they get the same food as the white soldiers got?
2. did they get paid the same as the white men?
3. What did the white soldiers think of them?
4. Where they slaves or soldiers?
5. Did they actively enlist in the army?
6. Why did the CS government let so few enlist?
7. Did the government just not know?
8. If they where indeed soldiers how many of them do you think they where? (I think there was at least 5,000+)
9. Where online can I find more of these records?
Can you answer these questions for me?
