Re: The Confederate Battle Flag

The war ended. Our old leaders and ancestors told us so, they told their children and the children after them to be good Americans; to accept their place within the Union. One of the causes they died and suffered for was for recognition of their rights to defend themselves given to them by the Constitution- the supreme Court, the States and public agreed. That is why they were ALL given and they accepted complete amnesty. Secession, was declared by those legally allowed to judge, not treason and therefore legally defensible. If you are going to argue for their cause it is this... not just their symbols.

War being over didn't stop the abuse of power, cultural attacks, and the raw exploitation suffered by all Southerners for nearly 120 years. Things have turned, not totally, but the South is not the same place it was when I grew up. It now has power, politically and economically, that it has not seen since 1860.
