Fort Bragg was named for who?

Years ago while passing through Fort Bragg in North Carolina the historical sign said it was named after General Bragg of the C.S.A. A few days ago while passing Fort Bragg a new sign had been erected. New being defined as within the past twenty years. It said the Fort was named after Lieutenant Colonel Bragg of the United States Army.

The sign is historically correct as Bragg was a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army prior to 1861-1865. Missing however is any mention of the word Confederate or CSA. The sign is in front of the main entrance to Fort Bragg.

The politically correct people have struck again.
