I'd guess they'd not thought about or even truly tried to understand the 'Native American' way of life. Oops, what am I saying? Of course they hadn't. Wasn't much left after Old Hickory got through. Abe's use of the globe to show the 'superior' knowledge of the 'whites' is another example of his lack of good manners. So the 'whites' had taken over much of the globe at that time but they probably wouldn't have wanted to if the indiginous people (lower rung species) had not made most of it worth taking. At least the natives understood the value of saving and not glutting the market. If they didn't need it right then, they left it alone. Maybe the 'Majority of Land Grabbers' should have taken a few notes from them.
Let's face it. Every European person who came here in the early days made some profit from something that wasn't really theirs. We may be founded by 'Founders' but we were built because of greed. It started with the Spanish and is't still going on. If anyone today believes the Federal government will not do something because it's not nice, they need a History book. They just put lipstick on pigs to make then easier to look at. Lincoln had a pallet load of boxes from Revlon just to cover up his own dirty lips.
Pam
ps.--anyone read Killing Lincoln yet? I sort of do not want to because I've heard OReilly make more than a few 'mistakes' when he's talking about Lincoln. Of course, we know why. Dang Yankee. I guess I ought to just because of that "know thine enemy" thingy.
