Re: Sheridan was better than Stonewall Jackson

Grant seems to not understand that at the beginning of the War the Southern troops and commanders were just a raw and untrained as their northern counterparts. As the war progressed the Southern Commander (that Survived) became better also. He compares Apples to Oranges here.

I assume that these quotes comes from Grant autobiography written at a time when he was dieing from cancer and heavily medicated and probably not the "real" author of these quotes or they were taken out of context. I had a little more respect for Grant than this, because of his stance about trying Lee for treason. I thought he knew what a gallent warrior was all about.
