Re: Has PC Blurred Interpretation of the CW?

Pam, it's been a while since I have taken the time to look at an 8th grade of grade 9 - 10th grade Social Studies or History text book.

As I have posted before here, I am very concerned with the direction in which public education is headed. However, from your note it looks like the "PC Express" has accelerated. I do hope you were exaggerating (which you usually don't do) when you said,

" It's no accident that the history textbooks have shortened the history of the first 100 years to a page. Then there's a paragraph, maybe 2 on the World Wars then, as so many who were taught with these very same books, the "real" History began in the 1960's."

Particularly one page on the first 100 years of our history and a paragraph or two on the WWs Is that true? What textbooks, how widespread is this?

Have you personally seen texts that so delimit those two subjects?

Merry Christmas with my personal best wishes for a wonderful 2011.

God save our country if you're right, Pam!

Dennis
