I don't know those films you are referring to, but people who conduct themselves according to principle usually pay a price for it (cf: Morrow). Capt. Isaac Gerow of the Queen's Rangers certainly did and so, consequently, did his widow and six kids.

Mike me lad, Captain Issac Gerow and Lieutenant James Morrow, both fought to maintain the Status Quo and what they considered their legitimate government. They were willing the sacrifice it all...their life's included... and make no mistake willing to take lives on the other side. As you know my ancestor James Morrow was more than willing. I suspect in that time and place you and I would take the same side. Now we stand opposed to the Status Quo and what it brings to our country. The times they are a changing. Sadly so.
