Some of the more experienced family researchers claim we are kin to Chief Powahtan through the Halbert and Randolf lines. I tried to verify the connection but could not the dates didn't work for me. I do know that Thomas Pittman, g-grandfather to my Pittmans of the 7th Miss. did receive a land grant from Powhatan. I have that paper around here someplace.
