Geronimo's bunch were at Ft Pickens, I think Ft Deposit, Alabama and then back to the territory. The Seminole and any other tribe who were in cahoots with them were held in St Augustine. That's where Billy Powell was held until he was taken to, I believe, Ft Moultrie where he died.

The thing on Geronimo's cell is one of the local jokes. There's a double room at Ft Pickens that was said to have been his cell and he and his wives and children lived in those two rooms. There was even a sign saying "Geronimo's Cell" over the barred door. Fact is, he didn't have a cell. He was the big tourist attraction and people took the ferry over to the fort just to see him. He sold the buttons from his coat to these visitors and made a chunk of change. They went away with a memento of the 'savage'. His wives sewed new buttons on his coat every night. The Apache were not contained in cells. They lived in the parade area of the fort. One of his wives is buried at Barrancas National Cemetery.
