John Wilkes Booth? He was as crazy and radical as John Brown. He committed a crime not a military action, his act was illegal and without legimate support. Lincoln had been shot at before but by men in uniform carring out their sworn duty to their country...Booth was not acting in this capacity, he was a dishonorable man and does not deserve respect. You should be recognizing the birthday of Mr. James W. Jackson of Alexandria, Virginia who as a private citizen, acted in self defence and was within the law.
