That is not so Amazing as pathetic. You still believe the people that prohibited black immigration, then sent an army to rob and vandalize private and public property in the Southern States intended to make life better for anyone but themselves. The 3.5 million black people who were suddenly emancipated without any education or property had no chance and the cynical ruse called Reconstruction (e.g. Freedman's Bureau) set them up as well as the impoverished white population who had to compete for substinance in a war torn land with a wrecked economy.
