My ggf served in the 62nd Alabama and was in Spanish Fort and Fort Blakeley(captured) as well as Fort Gaines during Battle of mobile Bay(captured). I was looking for any detail on how he got to New Orleans after capture and then how transported by boat to Ship Island(USS Clinton?). He went there twice.
Also any details on the 62nd Alabama battles.
