I have had a Marker placed in the Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, Arkansas for my Great Grandfather John W. Shoptaw 1st Arkansas Cavalry Co. F. He died in the Columbus, Mississippi Hospital in 1863, buried in an Unmarked Grave in Friendship Cemetery. VA will not provide a Stone on an Unmarked Grave. The Dedication Ceremony is to be performed by The Sons of Confederate Veterans, 31 May 2022.
