I'm trying to research an ancestor, Thomas N. Persons (2 Texas Infantry). He was wounded & captured July 4, 1863 at Vicksburg; placed on the H. Chouteau & left Vicksburg around 16 July 1863, & turned over to Confederate authorities at Mobile, AL. One Fold3 item indicates he was still alive on September 25, 1863 but no indication of where he would have been then. We find no record of him after that date. His home was in Burleson County, Texas; his widow remarried May 5, 1864. If anyone has any suggestions or information, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you.
