The Mississippi in the Civil War Message Board

Re: First person accounts from Mississippians

You are right, I do ask for a lot of help. It generally leads to new knowledge about ab Civil War topic. And then I share the new knowledge with people.

But I also post new material all the time. I think I’m quite generous. Take a look at the Virginia message board portal. You will see that I just posted four items that appeared in the postwar magazine called our living and our dead. I did the same thing on the North Carolina message board.

Were you one of the people who helped with the Edwin bearss manuscript? I put out the call asking for volunteers for people to type a manuscript that was in the files of Petersburg Battlefield Park. By typing the manuscript in a Microsoft Word format, they enabled my publisher, Ted Savas, to publish a two volume history of the siege of Petersburg. Ed Bearss won an award for that

I made a list of people who helped with the project and acknowledged them in the published book. Maybe I forgot to include you. I think I also sent them emails thanking them, but I could’ve left you out.
