May the General and his wife continue to rest in peace. I'm named for a young lad who served under Gen. Forrest in the 4th MS Calvary. The General's name has always been held in high esteem in our family.

Perhaps later I can add a story of "Uncle" Forrest Rea. a slave born during the war. He became a part of our family. He was given 200+ acres upon reaching adulthood and as one cousin wrote around 1910 "Uncle Forrest has more money by far than I do and his family is doing well." I have a photo of my great grandfather James S. Rea and Uncle Forrest taken in the late 1930's. Quite an interesting story.
