Wesson was carved out of Lincoln Co. so as to remain in Copiah Co. Look at a map and you'll see what may be 4 sq miles of Wesson jutting into Lincoln Co. Several of our family married into Brookhaven families over the years. My grandmother went to the Academy in downtown Brookhaven; some of the building were still there last time I visited.
