George, thanks so much for the info about D. J. Shows, especially the additional names of other Shows. Maybe, you can help me with another "brick Wall". Daniel M. Shows, Pvt. Co. F, 17th Battalion, Miss. Cav. Enlisted 1 Sep 1863 in Perry Co., Miss. On Company Muster Roll of Co. D, Miller's Reg't , Miss. Cav., he is listed as 4Sgt, for the months of Nov & Dec 1864. He is on detail as Hosler for Col. Pegues(?) at Carthage, Miss. 20 Mar 1864 he is on detached Report at Madison Station, Miss. Last information I have is he appears on Register of effects of Deceased Soldiers, turned over to Quartermasters, C.S.A. as D. M. Shows, Sgt., Co. B, Millers Cav., Tenn. Receipt file...........1865. No...........7979. Amount.......$50.00.
Confed. Arch., Chap. 10, File No. 21, page 594. My questions are, Where did he die?, When did he die? was he killed in action? where is he buried?
I would greatly appreciate any help you might be able to provide. I have a good bit of info about the shows. Will be happy to share.
Thanks again, Harold
