7th Missouri Cavalry, Robert Renick

I am looking for information on Robert Rogers Renick of the 7th Arkansas Cavalry which was part of Col. Solomon Kitchen's 10th Mo. Reg. Robert Rogers Renick enlisted at Camp Grayham just a few miles south of Gainsville, Arkansas in Greene Co. He was in Company K. This unit wintered 1863-1864 in Camden, Arkansas. It is believed Robert Rogers Renick died in Union Co. Illinois in April of 1865. This is the information recorded on his daughters death certificate. She claimed her daddy Robert Rogers Renick was b. 1832 and died in April of 1865 in Union County, Illinois. How does a Confederate Cavalry man get from Arkansas to Union Co. Illinois? I have no idea when he got there but it is believed he died in Illinois April 25, 1865. Where would you cross the Mississippi River? How could you cross the Mississippi without being arrested by Union authorities? I can not find any record of him being captured or being paroled. Why Union County, Illinois? Very odd. Keith Renick
