Regarding Amzi Martin's capture, See the Official Records war of the Rebellion (Navy) Volume 25, 1912, pp. 452-456. Martin was "on his way to Shreveport under orders to report there for duty" and had apparently just been ferried across the Mississippi at about Fort Adams. Martin was captured by naval forces working ashore.
