If you are referring to Col John L Logan of the 11 & 17 Arkansas who commanded a brigade of cavalry and mounted infantry,mother were operating in that area after fall of Port Hudson. Scouting, raiding, and generally staying in the Yankees hair. They had lots of activities in that part of Miss and into Louisiana. At times under Wirt Adams, at times acting independently under Johnstons orders. For quick info look up this unit and you will find some info on it and it's brigade and associated units.
