Forty - Seven Confederate Memorial Stones have recently been set in the Confederate Area of Vicksburg City Cemetery. These men had died in the Confederate Hospitals in the Raymond, Hinds County, Mississippi area, known as Cooper's Wells - Mississippi Springs area, The stones had been ordered some years ago. There was no place to place them in that area. Thus- the Mississippi Division, SCV, and John C Pemberton Camp Set the Memorial Stones. It is a long and confusing story.
