His name is Rayford Russell, sometimes spelled Raford, and yes I have his complete record. I ordered it a few years back.
I do not know for sure when he got this little book or if he carried it during war but I sure would like to think so. It's the first item I have of his that he actually owned and touched so am thrilled to bits to get it. Plus I have original pictures of his burial in 1936 taken at the grave yard. I got these items yesterday at a Russell reunion from a cousin who knows how much time I have spent on family history. He doesn't have kids to pass them to so he gave them to me.
I have the book 'Beneath Torn & Tattered Flags' written in 1999 by Jeff Giambrone that was written about the 38th.
