Bay St. Louis Ms. in October 1863

In October 1863, there was a naval bombardment and 3 skirmishes. Claiborne had written Banks five times in July '63 complaining of a tannery and salt-production facility. First the Union shelled the city, then they sent troops. The first raid failed, the second was a success, and in the third--a rescue attempt--this story happened.
I researched this story for the past two months. I think its close to what happened. If anyone has any additional info, please let me know.

Here is the link to my story.
