Re: S. C. P. Larey Co. G of the 9th MS Infantry

Thanks Rick, In my haste I over looked your valuable piece of information. And from a Orangeburg, South Carolina newspaper

SCP Larey from a SC newspaper report who was from Orangeburg SC and had married Miss Mary Taylor Loftin of Claiborne Parish LA. No year is given for this page in that newspaper.

This pretty much confirms the two were brothers as there was only one Larey family living in Orangeburg, SC. When Peter H. Larey of the 6th Alabama was held as a POW in Johnson's Island, Ohio in 1865 he probably had no idea that Samuel C. P. Larey was buried at Cincinnati and the other end of the State.

We know Daniel (The father) and his wife had about 12 children and there was a gap with their names and dates of birth. The C in S. C. P. Larey may have stood for Carlisle.
