Did Gen. Forrest ride through Hancock County?

Very interesting reading in the Koch family letters. Here is the link... http://www.russguerin.com/history/the-letters-of-two-historical-families/
It's almost certain that some of Forrest's men were here, but was the general himself here? Does anyone have any information on his wearabouts in the time frame described in the letters.
Also, it's been well documented that Newt Knight and his scouts hid in the Honey Island Swamp and these letters confirm that some scouts had banded up with some locals here and there was a clash with the Citizen Guard. Would anyone have any information on that incident too.
