Thank you, some of the info you listed I have but some I did not. Another relative with help from a researcher at the archives found a record that Cyrus Rape was buried in Rienze, MS. I was hoping that an actual pension app. would have that listed as her grandson later listed that he is buried in Salem cemetery in Lake, MS and although we know it isn't so as the cemetery was started many years later and it very unlikely he was dug up and reburied there. No one seems to know if the older church records still exist or if so where. I still would like to prove it and she would know a lot better than her grandson would have even later on. Of course the original family story I had was that he died of measles and was buried in Boyd, AL which members of this board pointed out to me years ago they weren't anywhere near that area. The story was obviously confused with the Boyd relatives from there as the stories came down through a relative from both. From what you said of the regiment, it is possible he may have fought at Farmington? Presuming he wasn't sick already. Interesting what you said about the farm boys. I would have thought them better able to survive but your reasoning sounds pretty good. Thanks again!
