Re: Supplying Hood in late 1864

Hi Sam,

Thanks very much for the encouragement. This will be part of a larger work on Hood's TN Campaign that will examine several aspects of it that have yet to be done in the proper details of the current and many past works on the topic. Two others are also involved.

I am trying more to focus on Hood's supplies through Mississippi and Alabama and will only deal in the Grierson raid as part of how that supply line was always vulnerable and could be taken down at any time. Frank Vandiver is the only historian who has written details on Hood's supply lines and his conclusions were not favorable - and neither are mine so far. This "line of supply" was a total joke basically. Ben Cooling has looked at it in some detail in the third book of his trilogy that came out a couple years ago.

If you turn up anything on this please do let me know.
