Dear Gregg
Do not think I can help you with your porject but I do wish to encourage you.
The only thing i have is a file on the so called "Skirmish at Franklin Church," in Holmes County.
This occured when, perhaps, a portion of Generison Force was trying to make Vicksburg at the end of the Raid you mentioned.
They had intended to burn the rail road bridge on the Mississippi Central Rail Road over the Big Black River Northward from Canton in January, 1865. (Ways Bluff, I think.)
My ancestor was wounded in the Skirmish.
He left us the saying "A Minor Wound is one that occurs to someone else, If it occurrs to you they are all Major Wounds." (Handed down family hisotry, handed down through the family.)
Also, the Commander at this time, Colonel Osband, later General Obband I think, is the highest ranking officer buired in the vicksburg Naitnal Cemetery,
Keep up the good work and if you might be interested in my file send me an email address and I will send along.
