John A. Comfort of Co. I 13th MS. Inf.

The correct date of death for John A. Comfort of Company I of the 13th Mississippi Infantry was found by both Ann Breedlove of Attala County, Mississippi and myself. He did not die in 1910 as listed on Find A Grave Memorial# 18874182.

"The newspaper that I found this in was THE KOSCIUSKO HERALD, dated 10 May 1907."

"The obituary is as follows: “Death of Mr. John A. Comfort” – “After a long illness, Mr. John A. Comfort, one of our oldest citizens, died on the 4th inst., at his residence in Kosciusko. He made a brave soldier in the civil war and was a consistent member of the Methodist Church for nearly half a century. He is survived by four daughters and two sons, his companion having preceded him to the Great Beyond several years ago. Peace to his dust.”
