Maybe some of you can clear up a problem with this ancestor. I have found him serving in two different units according to the paperwork I have found.
1st, he is shown serving in the 32nd Inf. Co. C along with inlaws Henry & John Simmons and shown as deserting.
2nd, he is shown serving in 14th Reg, Co. C. and his wife listed this as his unit when she completed pension application.
He lived in Pike County MS and his wife has him enlisting in Homesville MS.
I've tried to solve this on my own and I want to be sure I have him in my genealogy file serving in the correct unit. Also, his headstone has him in 14th. Has there been a really major mix up with him?
