I have a picture of Fairfax Washington who was a 19 yr. old ordnance Sgt. of the 38th MS, wearing a tricorner hat. Fairfax Washington was wounded during the Battle of Iuka on Sept. 19, 1862 and had a leg amputated. He later died on Oct. 2, 1862 in Iuka, MS. He is buried in the McKnight plot at Oak Grove Cemetery (The McKnight family took care of him in their home until his death) Fairfax's sister left money in her will for a headstone for his grave.
