Sorry folks, mea culpa. I let myself get caught up in the minutiae and failed to pull back to take a better look at the bigger picture. Of course, it's not so astonishing or remarkable that this one man was captured on the same day that the regimental flag was, since, after valiantly striving with great loss of life earlier in the day, the regiment was overrun, and the majority of survivors captured.
