Hill, age 40, 2nd Lieutenant, Company C (Camden Rifles), 18th Regiment Mississippi Infantry, enlisted May 28, 1861 at Corinth, Miss. by Captain Walker for 12 months, elected Captain Company G July 28, 1861, in place of Captain McWillis who was killed July 21, wounded in right arm at Ball’s Bluff, Leesburg, Va. October 21, 1861, resigned on reorganization April 26, 1862, married, resident of Canton, Miss.
