Cyndi - Daniel Phillips was not killed at Baker's Creek. The report you refer to shows him "missing". The fact that he survived that battle is confirmed by a later muster roll for July and August, 1864, showing him present at that time. This was the last muster roll on record for the company taken near Atlanta and stating that the last muster prior to this was taken at Kennesaw Mountain, and that the company had been in on all action with the regiment since then. Being the last roll on record, there is no further record of Phillips after that time. If he was killed after that date, it could have been anywhere the regiment fought from Atlanta, Franklin, Nashville, to Kinston and Bentonville.
