Mitchell, the history of the 7th Mississippi Battalion by Capt. George D. Hartfield is not the same document as the "Sketch History of the 7th Mississippi Battalion." The Hartfield manuscript is in Series 390, Box 272, at MDAH, and the document I cited is in the J.L. Power and Family Papers, Z/0100.000/S, Box 8, at MDAH. I pulled both collections and looked at the histories side by side, and they were definitely written by different people, as the handwriting is not the same.
