July 4, 1863, paroled July 7, exchanged December 20, 1863, appointed QM Sergeant, no date, recorded on the July/Aug, 1864 muster roll as absent, detailed to collect absentees, admitted General Hospital, Lauderdale Springs October 7, 1864, elected 2nd Lieutenant November 30, 1864, surrendered with his company ca. May 5, 1865, paroled May 10, 1865, description on enlistment: 23 year old Merchant, born at Lowndes, Miss., resident of Winona, Carroll County, Miss.

* This regiment was also known as the 1st Regiment Mississippi Light artillery
