The numbers I have are based on research by David Wall, who wrote a unit history and had numbers from primary sources produced after the battle. 20 seems like a really low number ... the unit was engaged for a couple of hours on the far side of the creek, and then a section of the guns moved across the creek and shelled the Confederates retreating across the field on the Gallatin road.
