Fold3 POW cards indicate both 7th and 11th, Co G. Its was from there that I grabbed his nativity and occupation. Couldn't find a closer match by age or spelling from census records. I put it out there as a point of investigation and admit that the logic is not proof but just a probable to be checked. I also don't think the Oxford MS entry is an eliminator as that card also lists a nativity of NC. Middle initials are often flat out wrong and with "M" being the last letter of "Adam", its not far off. Literacy in the enrollee and record writer, even census takers, has left much to be desired at times. I mean we are talking about Cobbler to Cauble here! :>) Thanks.
