I believe this must be a different man. Although records indicate he was born in North Carolina, his middle initial is pretty consistently written as M. Also, the company roll compiled at Petersburg during March 1865, states that he enlisted at Oxford, MS, was 18 at enlistment, a farmer, resident of Oxford (nearest post office). His name is spelled Cauble, Corbal, and it looks like Cowbal. He is shown as Adam, Adam M. , A.M., and in one case M.A.
