Thank you Monterey, I actually found the two tombstones at the Magnolia cemetary for both Joseph Blacklidge and John Steelman when I was in Mobile in October! Both names are slightly misspelled, but the records on file at Magnolia correspond with their death dates, so we believe that these 2 indeed are the family members I seek. Question for you, any suggestions about where to look so that I would be able to decipher what disease they died of? I did receive the CMSR records, nothing there, and Magnolia didn't have anything specific. At least I found the final resting place of step-father and stepson, which is a feat in and of itself!
