Private John A. Wynn's Parole/Release

John A. Wynn fought with the 1st Reg't Miss. Light Artillery, Company D. Per the his military records, received from the Federal Archives (Roll of Prisoners of War), he was captured at Blakely, AL, 04/09/1865, transferred to Ship Island the to Vicksburg on May 1, 1865. His record is notated "Headquarters Exchange of Prisoners, Camp Townsend, May 6, 1865. Received the prisoners, on parole described upon this roll - H.A.M Henderson". So, it appears he made it to Camp Townsend?

There are no other records after the above date. Nothing to show he was paroled and released from Camp Townsend. He did not return home to Lexington, Holmes County, MS and no one in our family ever knew what happened to him or where he died/was buried. If possible we would like to find out where he is buried. Any suggestions of records to check for CSA POW's who died at Camp Townsend before they were released, where they were buried?

Thanks!
