I'm assisting someone whose ancestor was in the 2nd Arkansas Cavalry. He and others were captured in Bolivar County on July 4, 1863 and shipped north to spend the remainder of the war in prison. Can someone tell me what was going on in Bolivar County on this date...the folks in Vicksburg were paroled but these guys were shipped north so I assume they weren't part of that agreement?
